Message See my original post for what, where, and why. Member ZDUCTIV told me he was able to rewire the stock oil pressure gauge to show the fuel level on his original cluster retro fit. I took him at his word, and wired mine accordingly while everything was torn apart.

Fast forward to today when my track car project has finally become mobile enough that I was able to drive to the gas station and fill up the tank for winter. Much to my surprise, the oil pressure gauge, which had been pointing at 0, slowly rose to 120 after putting 17.5 gallons in at the pump. I'll still likely run the tank dry once next spring with a 5 gal emergency gas can in the trunk just to see how the gauge reacts as the tank runs dry. Likely a moot point as high G corners usually prevent me from ever getting that low at the track anyways.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone picture, but it's proof enough that not only does it work on paper, but in real life as well. Now to figure out why the car smells like gas...
